I found "I ran to Alva" a relaxing summer read. The characters and setting were simple, pure American and interesting. I found myself wanting more chapters to read when the book ended and hope for a sequel! The author does a wonderful job capturing the friendship and emotions between friends, making it easy for the reader to relate to the three main characters. I read it on the beaches of Lake Michigan, with the water and sand at my feet, but I felt I was in the setting of the book out west somewhere.. "I Ran to Alva" is an enjoyable summer read!
Purchased this book for myself and now have a list of people waiting to read it. I live in a Retirement Village with a majority of residents who enjoy reading good books. I read this book and was discussing the story but did not want to give out too much information so loaned the book to one of my friends who told me she could not put it down so stayed up all night until the end. It is well written and easily understood by my 80 year old friends. Now we are waiting for the next book as we know it will be another exciting and suspense filled story for all ages to enjoy. Great Book!
